Two Beltway Boxers have won unanimous decisions tonight at the Richard Codey Arena in West Orange, NJ.
Dusty Hernandez Harrison of DC won a workmanlike eight-round unanimous decision over Philadelphia, PA's Tim Witherspoon, Jr. in a televised (ESPN2) bout. Harrison's shots to the body and overall work rate seemed to be the difference in the contest. Harrison won by a score of 78-74 on all three scorecards.
Harrison is now 20-0, 11 KO's. Witherspoon falls to 10-4-1, two KO's.
On the undercard, undefeated Baltimore, MD middleweight Cecil McCalla captured a six-round unanimous decision over Eric "Murder" Mitchell of Vero Beach, FL. McCalla controlled the bout down the stretch, according to reports and won by tallies of 58-56, 59-55 and 60-54.
McCalla is now 17-0, six KO's while Mitchell is now 23-11-1, 11 KO's.
