DC flyweight Malik Jackson won his opening bout at the Elite Men's World Championships in Almaty, Kazakhstan on Monday. Jackson scored a second-round TKO over Vilvando Rodrigues of Angola. The bout was stopped at 1:07 of the round. The contest was also the very first bout of the competition.
Jackson advances to the second round where he will face reigning world champion and the top-ranked flyweight in the world, Andrew Selby of Wales. That bout will take place on Friday.
