December 6 Keystone Card Is Complete!

We now have the complete lineup for the Keystone Boxing card on Friday, December 6 at Rosecroft Raceway in Fort Washington, MD.  Before we tell you who is on the card, we need to first tell you who is NOT on the card.

Barring a last-minute miracle, that person would be undefeated Waldorf, MD junior welterweight Mike "Yes, Indeed" Reed, whose reputation apparently has preceded him to the point where boxers up and down the East Coast seemingly either just did not want to fight him or asked for too much money to fight him (that is my observation, not an official statement).   Here is the official statement from Keystone Boxing:

"Despite our best efforts, we were not able to find an opponent that meets the standards we set for Keystone Boxing and that Team Reed sets for Mike."

I can say that many folks around the area and up and down the East Coast tried to assist Keystone in finding an opponent for Reed.  Unfortunately, it just didn't happen.

So here is how the card will shape up.

The main event is still intact -- undefeated Accokeek, MD junior middleweight "Swift" Jarrett Hurd (9-0, five KO's) will take on Silver Spring, MD's George "El Gallo" Armenta (14-10, 11 KO's) in a six-round contest that will be fought at a weight of 158 pounds.

Waldorf, MD middleweight "The Karate Kid" Josh Elkins will face Brandon Priest of West Dundee, IL in a four-round bout.  Elkins (1-0, one KO) scored a first-round TKO over Jamaal Davis in his pro debut on October 18 at Rosecroft.  Priest (0-1) made his pro debut on that same card and lost by first-round TKO to Demond Nicholson.

Landover, MD junior middleweight Larry Recio battles Brian Meadows of Tampa, FL by way of Owensboro, KY in a four-rounder.  Recio (1-0) made his pro debut on October 26 at the Washington, DC and won a four-round unanimous decision over Luis Teal.  Meadows (1-4-2, one KO) makes his third straight trip to the Beltway region having scored a first-round  knockout over Elmer Vera on November 7 in Cockeysville, MD.  Prior to that, Meadows was the victim of a first-round TKO at the hands of Jeremy Trussell on September 28 in Baltimore, MD.  Meadows will be accompanied by his trainer, former three-time world champion "The Galaxxy Warrior" Nate Campbell.

Fort Washington, MD bantamweight Marq "The Monster" Johns makes his pro debut against Stephon McIntyre of Newark, NJ.  Johns is originally from Philadelphia, PA and trains at Old School Boxing gym located on the Rosecroft Raceway grounds.  McIntyre (2-2) is fighting for the first time in his home country after three bouts in Panama and one in France.  McIntyre will be looking to break a two-bout losing streak.

Also, Lanham, MD welterweight "The Baby-Face Assassin" Yurii Polischuk will face off against the debuting Stavone Warren of Chicago, IL in another four-round contest.  Polischuk (2-1-1, one KO) battled Kevin Womack, Jr. to an exciting four-round draw in his last outing on November 23 in Baltimore.  Warren is debuting as a conventional boxer but has participated in professional Muay Thai bouts.

Two DC lightweights will square off in a four-rounder.  Joshua Davis will take on Hugh Hinds .  Davis (4-1, two KO's) will look to bounce back from his first loss -- a four-round unanimous decision to Aaron Chavez on September 7 at Rosecroft.  Meanwhile, Hinds (1-2) will try to keep his positive momentum going after winning his first pro contest by four-round majority decision over Deandre Walker on the October 18 Rosecroft card.
