Quarles Loses Decision; Odom Wins Again in First Round; Kelly Gets Draw in New Jersey!

Beltway Boxers had mixed results Friday night during a card at the Robert Treat Hotel in Newark, NJ.

Alexandria, VA middleweight Brandon Quarles lost an eight-round unanimous decision to John "Apollo Kidd" Thompson of Newark.  Quarles was dropped twice during the contest in the sixth and seventh rounds and lost an 80-70 decision across the board.  Quarles is now 10-2-1, three KO's.  Thompson remains undefeated at 13-0, four KO's.

Super middleweight "The King's Son" Jerry Odom of Bowie, MD scored another first-round TKO, this time against Antonio Liles of North Carolina.  Odom needed just 45 seconds to put away Liles.  Odom is now 5-0, five KO's, one NC.  Liles is 1-3, one KO.

Also, DC heavyweight Danny "Smooth" Kelly fought to a four-round majority draw with Jamal "Knockout" Woods of Forrest City, AK.  Kelly won on one scorecard, 39-37, but the other two judges saw the draw at 38-38.  Kelly is now 4-0-1, four KO's while Woods is now 3-8-1, three KO's.

This was a GH3/Greg Cohen Promotions card.  GH3 is slated to have a card on Friday, October 25 at the Charles Houston Recreation Center in Alexandria, VA.  Odom, Kelly, Antoine Douglas and Glen Dezurn are all slated to be on that card.  Quarles is scheduled to return on Saturday, October 26 on the RBA Promotions card at the Smith Gymnasium at Fort Myer/Henderson Hall in Arlington, VA.
