Guerrero Wins Tough Contest in Texas!

Salisbury, MD middleweight Fernando Guerrero survives a first-round knockdown to win a 10-round unanimous decision over a very tough Raymond Gatica of Austin, TX tonight at Cowboys Dance Hall in San Antonio, TX.

Guerrero got off to a rocky start in the contest as he was dropped by a huge left hand by Gautica with about two minutes gone in the first round.  Guerrero managed to survive the round.

Guerrero seemed to take control of the contest through the middle rounds but in round eight, Gautica rocked Guerrero with some hard shots.  The two battled furiously until the final bell.

All three judges scored the bout 96-93 for Guerrero who bounces back from his unsuccessful title bid against Peter Quillin and raises his record to 26-2, 19 KO's.  Gatica is now 13-2, eight KO's.
