Washington, DC will have to wait a little longer to host its biggest international amateur tournament ever.
The US Grand Prix Invitational that was slated to be held at the Washington Convention Center from December 11-14 has been postponed. According to a press release from USA Boxing, the event has been postponed because of a scheduling conflict with international delegations.
The event is now scheduled to take place sometime during the summer of 2014 in the Nation's Capitol. The event will be the first international competition held on US soil since the AIBA World Championships were held in Chicago, IL in 2007.
