April 18th Rosecroft Card Is Coming Together!

This huge week of Beltway Boxing is starting to really come together.  We've told you about the Saturday, April 12 card in Baltimore as well as the Saturday, April 19 card in DC.

Now comes a portion of the Friday, April 18 Keystone Boxing card at Rosecroft Raceway in Fort Washington, MD.  In the main event, undefeated Waldorf, MD junior welterweight Mike "Yes, Indeed" Reed will be in a six-round contest against Regino Canales of Caguas, Puerto Rico.

Reed (8-0, five KO's) is coming off a six-round unanimous decision win over Bilal Mahasin on the last Keystone card at Rosecroft on March 7.  This will be Reed's sixth straight appearance at Rosecroft.  Canales (6-4, two KO's) makes his first trip to the continental US and is 2-2 in his last four contests.  Canales has beaten boxers who were 9-1 and 6-1 during his career.

In another six-round encounter, undefeated White Plains, MD lightweight Terron "Kid" Grant will face off against Alberto Candelaria of Miami, FL by way of Utuado, Puerto Rico.  Grant (8-0, four KO's) last fought on December 14 and won a six-round unanimous decision over Damon Antoine in Washington, DC.  Candelaria (3-1-1, two KO's) will look to bounce back from a six-round unanimous decision loss to John Joe Nevin on March 17 in Boston, MA.

Also on the card, Montgomery Village, MD junior middleweight Gerome Quigley returns to action as he faces James Gooding of Tampa, FL in a four-round contest.  Quigley (2-0, two KO's)  hasn't fought since scoring a third-round TKO over Damien Butler on November 7 in Cockeysville, MD.  Gooding (1-5-1, one KO) has lost four of his last five bouts but all by decision.

Frederick, MD super bantamweight Rodrigo Gabriel makes his return after a year's absence and takes on Gabriel Braxton of Atlanta, GA in a four-round encounter. Gabriel (1-0) made his pro debut in March of 2013 and won a four-round unanimous decision over Quincy Braxton in Frederick.  Braxton (0-2) makes his second straight appearance at Rosecroft and looks to do better than his last appearance where he was knocked out in the second round by Marq Johns on March 7 of this year.

DC featherweight Tyrone Wright (1-1) will also take on the debuting Enrique Vargas of Reading, PA.

Also slated to be on the card are "Swift" Jarrett Hurd, Marq "The Monster" Johns, the returning Kevin Rivers, Jr. and the debuting Mykal "The Professor" Fox, the younger brother of Alantez Fox.
