Grayton, Jackson-Benson Sign With Haymon; Wade Headlines June 27 Card In Las Vegas!

Two more Beltway Boxers have signed with uber-manager Al Haymon.

Undefeated DC welterweight David "Day-Day" Grayton (7-0, six KO's) actually worked under the Haymon banner in his last bout on April 19 in DC where he scored a first-round TKO over Howard Reece at the DC Armory. The announcement became official shortly after that contest. Grayton returns to action Friday night when he battles German Valdez in a six-round contest at the Fantasy Springs Casino in Indio, CA.

Now comes word that WBC Fecarbox Super Middleweight champion "The Real Deal" Phil Jackson-Benson of Landover, MD is the newest Haymon signee (can we call them "Haymon Guys" or would Paul Heyman of the WWE get mad?).

Jackson-Benson, the 2013 Beltway Boxing Co-Boxer of the Year (13-1, 12 KO's), has not fought since stopping Scott Sigmon on September 7 for the vacant WBC USNBC Super Middleweight title at Rosecroft Raceway in Fort Washington, MD. This was due to an earlier contract hassle which has now been resolved.

Meanwhile, BATB has learned that undefeated Largo, MD supermiddleweight Dominic "Lights Out" Wade (another Haymon signee) will headline a ShoBox card on Friday, June 27 at the Hard Rock Cafe Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, NV.  The opponent for Wade (15-0, 11 KO's) is slated to be Nick Brinson of Albany, NY (16-1-2, six KO's).  No official word on how long the bout is scheduled for.

A clarification needs to be made here.  This is NOT the card that was originally scheduled to be at the DC Armory on that same date.  However, this is the card that forced the card that was originally scheduled for June 27 to find a new date (which is slated to be Friday, July 25 at a venue to be determined).
